Peer Kleinschmidt wurde 1982 in Braunschweig/Deutschland geboren, wo er nicht nur seine Leidenschaft für das Klavier entdeckte, sondern auch für die musikalische Improvisation und Komposition.

Er wurde von Richie Beirach in Jazz-Piano und Komposition an der Hochschule für Musik “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” in Leipzig/Deutschland und von Mikhail Alperin in Improvisation an der “Norges musikkhøgskole“ in Oslo/Norwegen unterrichtet.

Im Jahr 2012 erhielt er sein Diplom als Filmmusikkomponist an der Filmuniversität Babelsberg “Konrad Wolf“ in Potsdam/Deutschland.

Neben seiner Arbeit als Komponist für Film- und Instrumentalmusik begleitet Peer Kleinschmidt Stummfilme an der Welte-Kinoorgel im Filmmuseum Potsdam und arbeitet als Produzent für die Deutsche Pop Band “Chapeau Claque” und die Sängerin “Emma Mai”.

Er arbeitet und lebt in Berlin/Deutschland.

Peer Kleinschmidt was born 1982 in Braunschweig/Germany where he discovered his passion for not only playing the piano but moreover for musical Improvisation and Composition in general.

He was educated by Richie Beirach in Jazz-Piano and Composition at the academy of music “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig/Germany and Improvisation by Mikhail Alperin at the “Norges musikkhøgskole“ Oslo/Norway.

In 2012 he graduated with a Masters Degree in Composition for Film-Music at the Film University Babelsberg “Konrad Wolf“ Potsdam/Germany.

Besides his work as a Composer for Film and Instrumental Music, Peer Kleinschmidt is an accompanist for silent movies on the Welte-Cinema Pipe Organ at the Filmmuseum Potsdam and works as a producer for the German Pop Band “Chapeau Claque” and the singer “Emma Mai”.

Peer Kleinschmidt works and lives in Berlin/Germany.
